Student Volunteer Program

UNC Health Johnston is excited to invite a select group of students to join us for a unique volunteering opportunity at our Smithfield and Clayton campuses. This 8-week program offers participants the chance to volunteer in various hospital departments across our health system and gives teenagers the opportunity to contribute to the community while exploring a career in the healthcare field. 

Duties may include: Interacting with patients, rounding on patient’s rooms, assisting in discharges, restocking supplies, gift shop sales, delivering flowers and amenities, performing data entry and filing, assisting nursing staff with errands, greet patients and visitors to the hospital and help them find their destinations and many other duties.
