Camp Med

UNC Health Johnston is thrilled to present a transformative weeklong camp for students eager to explore various hospital departments. This immersive experience will allow participants to learn more about health care careers by shadowing hospital teammates in a number of different areas through our health system in Smithfield and Clayton. By the week's end, participants will attain their Basic Life Support certification and gain profound insights into the intricacies of hospital operations.

    • At least 14 years old and completed 9th grade by June 15th.
    • Maturity, professionalism, commitment
  • Commitment
    • Weeklong sessions run Monday- Thursday from 8 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
      • Lunch is provided daily.
    • Students must have reliable transportation to our Smithfield and Clayton campuses.
    • If accepted into the program, all required vaccinations and TST testing must be completed, which may involve a fee.
    • MUST attend In-Person Orientation June 2 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Johnston Medical Mall in Smithfield
  • We suggest writing application answers in a separate location and refreshing the application webpage before inputting your answers and saving.
  • Answers to questions must be written exclusively by the applicant. AI-generated answers will disqualify the applicant.
  • An automatic confirmation email is sent immediately after the application is submitted. If you do not get this email, it is likely your application did not go through.
