Braving Parkinson's through Movement (BPM)
BPM is a total fitness program consisting of twice-weekly exercise sessions with a certified Movement Disorder instructor. Sessions will be held in the warm water therapy pool and the training loft at HealthQuest Fitness & Wellness Center.

Resist rigidity and challenge the mind-body connection in this 45-minute specialized class. Each session will focus on promoting overall stabilization and balance, combating symptom progression, and increasing range of motion through gait and agility training. Benefits may include reduced stiffness, improved mobility, support, improved strength, coordination, body awareness, posture, and much more!
Participants will have FUN with peers in this group setting and enjoy physical activity, vocal stimulation, and diaphragmatic breathing exercises to develop speech projection and continued socialization.
Sessions
- June 2- August 15, Tuesdays (water) and Thursdays (land) from 3:00- 3:45 p.m.
- After August 15, Tuesdays (water) and Thursdays (land) from 2:00- 2:45 p.m.
- One-on-one training sessions are also available.
Cost
- Members: $149 per month
- Non-Members: $169 per month
FAQs
Q: Who can attend the program?
A: Anyone diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease or any other similar movement disorder.
Q: Can my spouse attend class with me?
A: Due to limited space, one caregiver is allowed to attend class per class participant.
Q: When and where is this program held?
A: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00p - 2:45p; Tuesdays we meet in the pool area and Thursdays
we meet in the lobby. Our instructors will guide you to where class is held.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Comfortable athleticwear (Thurs.) and swimsuit (Tues.) fitting for unrestricted movement
and appropriate footwear. Pool deck shoes are highly recommended.
Q: Can I only attend one portion of the program (land or water)?
A: All participants should plan to take advantage of the full program. Get ready to try
something new!
Q: What do I need to bring with me to class?
A: All equipment is provided! Stay hydrated by bringing a non-glass water bottle to all classes.
Q: What should I expect during each class?
A: Fun interaction with peers and instructors as well as a great workout that keeps you
focused on your goals!
