“We’re delighted Chris will be here to celebrate our launch,” says Ashley Scott, director of wellness services. “His timing couldn’t be better.”
Get Real and Heel offers evidence-based classes three times a week for 12 weeks, focusing on strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. Sponsored by the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the program is designed to help cancer survivors rebuild strength and confidence in a supportive community setting.
All cancer survivors are invited to work out with Draft during the event.
For Scott, a breast cancer survivor, bringing the program to HealthQuest is personal. “After completing chemotherapy, radiation and multiple surgeries, I struggled to regain my strength and energy,” she says. “This program could have made such a difference—and I’m thrilled to bring it to our community.”
Draft became a passionate advocate for lung cancer awareness and wellness after losing his wife, a non-smoker, to the disease in 2011. Today, he champions programs like Get Real and Heel to stress the importance of exercise for cancer survivors.
