UNC Health Johnston Home Care and Hospice earns 2025 SHPBestTM ‘Superior Performer’ Patient Experience Award
UNC Health Johnston Home Care and Hospice has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs as a “Superior Performer” for achieving an overall patient experience score that ranked in the top 20% of all eligible SHP clients for the 2025 calendar year.
The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge home health agencies that consistently provide high-quality service to their patients. The 2025 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall experience score for more than 3,200 home health providers.
With the largest HHCAHPS benchmark in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made patient experience a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the HHCAHPS survey.
"Providing excellent patient care takes relentless effort, and our SHPBest award winners embody that every year,” said Jason Ballet, president of SHP. “This program lets us recognize the organizations that never settle, that keep improving the patient and caregiver experience even when they're already performing at a high level. That kind of commitment deserves to be celebrated."
Johnston’s home care agency is made up of 46 teammates comprising office staff, registered and licensed practical nurses, physical therapists and assistants, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and home health aides.
Because the agency serves Johnston County only, it’s able to offer continuity of care from a team of committed clinicians who know the community and their patients, says Elizabeth Cherry, home health manager.
“Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of the people we serve by meeting patients where they are and delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in collaboration with their primary care providers and healthcare teams,” she added.
Kyle Mobley, director, says the home care agency stands apart because of its focus on building meaningful relationships with patients and families. “By combining clinical excellence with compassionate care, we help patients achieve their health goals while remaining safe and independent in their homes whenever possible,” he said.
Cherry says she’s also proud the agency was voted Best Home Care provider for the second year in a row in the Johnstonian News’ Best of Johnston County competition.
