UNC Health Johnston Connect
You can now keep up with the latest news and updates from UNC Health Johnston through our periodic publication. This way, we can keep you more informed throughout the year about what we’re doing to improve the health of the people in our communities.
Change is in the air as summer shifts to fall—a season of transition both in nature and here at UNC Health Johnston. We're saying goodbye to two exceptional leaders who've shaped our mission of patient-first care: Ruth Marler, our chief operating officer and chief nursing officer, and Kyle McDermott, our vice president of support services and Clayton hospital administrator, will both retire in early December. Their legacy of leadership and love for our hospitals runs deep, and we're excited to introduce new leaders who will carry that vision forward.
This edition of the Connect celebrates the people, programs, and moments that make our community healthier. You'll meet a provider whose career has come full circle at SECU Hospice House, learn how UNC Primary Care and UNC Urgent Care are meeting the needs of a rapidly growing Flowers community, and discover how real people are achieving wellness wins through nutrition.
As Johnston County continues to grow, so do we—and we're honored to grow alongside you.
Here’s what’s inside this issue:
- Provider comes full circle at SECU Hospice House – A career journey inspired by compassion
- A fifth anniversary at Flowers for UNC Health – Five years of integrated care and community impact
- Wellness wins with nutrition – Real stories of transformation through proper nutrition
- Make plans to see the Festival of Trees – A new charitable twist on a beloved holiday tradition
And don't forget to share it with your friends and family who may be interested!
